Madeleine and helpers collecting for Farepak Christmas Appeal

Madeleine Moon MP took to the streets of Bridgend on Saturday morning, collecting for the local Farepak Christmas appeal.

Many families with young children have been devastated by the collapse of Farepak Food and Hamper Company, losing thousands of pounds.

In just two hours, Mrs Moon and her team collected over £200.

“The people of Bridgend have shown by their generosity that community spirit is still very strong in our town.” Mrs Moon said.

“These are families who had saved and prepared for Christmas in plenty of time in order to give their children the happy Christmas they deserve.”

Peter Morgan Estate Agents took the lead by setting up an appeal fund and pledging donations from every property that they sell until Christmas.

Further collections will be made at the McArthur Glen shopping outlet on the weekend of the 9th and 16th of December and further gift or monetary donations are welcomed at any Peter Morgan office.

Mrs Moon added;

“We can all help to make sure that families who have been so badly let down by big business are given the support that they need.”
